Day 1

Today we spent 11 hours traveling south to Redding. Not much to tell you about. We stopped at rest stops to switch drivers and walk around the car to stretch our legs then for our picnic lunch. One of the things I like when traveling by car is having picnic lunches and not always eating at restaurants. Mom made fried chicken, Roy cut up watermelon along with home grown tomatoes and I made potato salad. YUM The weather was interesting, from light rain to a couple downpours that you could not see the trucks in front of us. Mom got the pleasure of driving through that. Then the sun came out in southern Oregon and the more we headed south the hotter it became. The next couple of days we will do a lot of traveling. Tomorrow we visit old family friends and keep heading south then east. I am really looking forward to New Mexico as I have never been there. I plan on taking lots of pictures of the area. So off to bed and up early to head out.
