We left Fresno at 8: oo am hitting our first rush hour but it broke up quickly. We traveled for about 3 hours then stopped at a rest stop and realized just how hot it was. Thank goodness for air conditioning in the van. We ended our day in Laughlin Nevada were it is 105 out. I do feel bad for everyone at home as I hear rain is in their days. I love the heat and am not looking forward to the rainy and gray days of Washington. But 105 come on!!! As we traveled through the Mojave Desert the landscape was very interesting.
I would like to tell you it was beautiful but that is not the word I would use to describe it. It was dry and dusty with rock formations and spiky plants coming up every. It is soft and dangerous looking at the same time. I would love to walk through it taking pictures and touching the rocks, plants and sand. Knowing the dangers of the desert it stops me. From the heat to the snakes and scorpions. There was a haze on the horizon and not sure if it was caused by the heat, pollution or fires of California.
If you are counting we now have hit our second casino. We went for a walk after spending all the hours in the car. The Koi pound at the hotel was amazing.
Then to dinner at the hotel buffet (too much food with chocolate cupcake for dessert). Went for a little walk after dinner but the bugs were bad. We did find an interesting site. Skunks
Someone had put out cat food for them and they were happily eating. People standing around told me to be careful as they could spray. Well I was going to get a couple of pictures and told everyone if I start running they may want to follow. Aren't they Cute? Back inside the casino I broke down and put $5.00 in the machine. It gave me noting in return. What fun is that? I went to the gift shop and at least got a T shirt for my $10.00. Mom and Roy spent a couple hours down there while I came to my room to answer emails. They came back with all kinds of gifts they got for playing and even a little extra pocket change. Not sure what I am doing wrong???
Well to bed I go with another day of travel tomorrow. This time through New Mexico. Enjoy today's photos and we will see what I get tomorrow.
Goodnight.
