Day 8

I am a day behind on my blog. I will tell you about Sunday the 13th then also about today.
We spent 2 nights in Enid Oklahoma and today traveled an hour south to Yukon Oklahoma to meet with another branch of Vculeks. Again from the original brothers, Matej and Joseph Vculek sons Charles (Matej's son and my branch) and Joseph P.( Joseph's son) Joseph P moved to Oklahoma in the late 1800 and had 10 children. On Saturday we met Al, he is from Joseph P. son Albert branch. The next two days we met with family from another son of Joseph P. Emil. To see more about all the siblings that came to America and their families please go to my webpage at wherestoriesunfold.com.

Meeting with Stanley’s family was a great experience. What wonderful and welcoming people they were. We so appreciate and thank them for their hospitality. We also met their great granddaughters who are great kids. One of them had a project at school to show her family history. What a great time for her to get lots of information while learning about her roots. I enjoyed giving her some information and telling her what I know about her family, her great grandmother can give her photos to add to that information. Good luck on your project!!

As we meet new family we always look to see if they resemble the Vchulek’s at home. When we walked into Stanley’s home mom saw he looked like her 1st cousin Joe Vchulek. We pulled up some photos of Joe and sure enough, even his family through so. I feel like I now have many new cousins that I can communicate with. I may not see them often because of the distance but with our world of technology we can stay in touch. We will not be meeting any more Vculek family until we get to Minnesota and North Dakota in a couple of weeks. We now will be focusing on Roy’s family the Mathis. This is his mother’s side.
