We have decided to leave on Sunday, September 6th for our cross country journey. I have been running around trying to get everything at home ready so when I leave things run smoothly for Tim, my husband. I really appreciate him as he is very supportive of my researching habits.
Some have asked me why go so far to find people you do not know or who are dead. Why not!! I saw a plaque the other day that said “Family, like branches on a tree, we may grow in different directions, yet our roots remain as one”. I enjoy seeing and hearing about the different direction my family has traveled, who they were/are and what they did/do in life. Now I know not all of my relatives have been stellar pillars of the community. Alcoholic, embezzlers, thief, gamblers, abusers, cheaters, ladies of the evening, just to name a few. Yes, we all have a “Skeleton” or two in the closet with some worse than others. That just makes things a little more interesting. I very much enjoy meeting new people and seeing where they fit into the family. We will be doing a lot of that this trip. So keep watching to see where we have traveled to, who we have met and what we have found. I will be trying to blog each evening if the hotel we are in has internet available. So come along with us on our journey and enjoy the ride!!!
